What Are "Whole Foods"?

Whole foods as they are defined in Buffalo and Amherst are nutrient rich foods, unadulterated, packaged straight from nature, directly from the plant or animal. They have not been treated with pesticides, growth hormones or antibiotics. They are free from stabilizers, preservatives and artificial flavorings. While some may be packaged as “convenience” items, whole foods generally are minimally processed. The goal of this nutrition program is to educate and restore the client to a whole foods lifestyle. Achieving this is accomplished on a continuum through:  Health and dietary assessment, a personalized nutrition program based on current science to include foods that are unprocessed, organic, pesticide and hormone free, biweekly support sessions and review of personal food journals and individualized goal setting with ongoing evaluations.
